yes, indeed! vandy near park. there’s also a cute, round sign that sticks out, but it kept swinging in the wind, defying the treo camera. in any case, I anticipate something yummy or a short life.

there’s still paper and building permits up in the windows.

More from Carnivore: “Awesome! Hopefully the baked goods will be as nice as the design. looks like their hours will be 7-7 on weekdays.”

Muddy Waters Storefront: Still Vacant

muddy waters space-tn.jpgHow long has Muddy Waters been gone now? And how much is New Millennium Real Estate (718-499-2000) asking for this 675-square-foot space, anyway? There HAS been a lot of interest, and sources say that they were originally asking for something like $75k-$85k for the key to space plus rent around $1,200.

Then, about a week ago on Craigslist (Feb. 25) they were asking $3500/mo. (nothing posted about a key fee) and were advertising it as an “espresso bar” space, if memory serves correctly. So, if you can sell 7,000 cappuccinos a month and don’t mind just breaking even, then this might be the space for you.

Anyway, the Craigslist posting is now expired, and they don’t appear to have relisted the space, so maybe a new tenant is getting ready to move in?

Now, Mary writes in to remind you about the Knitting Circle at Prospect Perk Cafe (corner of Flatbush and Sterling Place), every Wednesday night from 8:00-11:00 PM: “Newbies welcome. Just show up. Very casual. Small group.” It’s in the DAILYHEIGHTS Events Calendar, which is filling out quite nicely and quite rapidly. Go add your event now.

Tony says of the Prospect Perk Knitting Circle: “The people in the group are a friendly mix of moms, 30-somethings and ‘dog people’.” We’re still waiting to hear when the Freddy’s Knit Night segment airs on NBC’s Jane Pauley show. Stay tuned…
