Sorry to hear that. Although I was not a big fan of the place, except for the potato salad, it was better than nothing. For those who really need barbecue, I tried BarBQ on 6th Ave and 20th Street a couple of times and it is ok. Just ok; no more, no less.
Glad to see this mediocre restaurant go. Now, we can hopefully get a good new food option in the neighborhood.
Good god, why continue to slag Biscuit, a cheap, affordable option for the neighborhood? It wasn’t like it was pretending to alter the barbecue paradigm: it simply offered up fried chicken and gooey mac ‘n cheese for a paltry sum. Two people could munch for $8.
Why not hate on something deserving of ire, like Yummy Taco? Oodles of mediocre restaurants deserve to bite the bullet before Biscuit.
Thanks JoshB for saying that. Why not rag on Yummy Taco, who’s “food” is not even edible. I’m going to miss Bisquit.
I didnt love the food but it was a nice place and you could bring your own wine in which is a great deal. Certainly cant do that at yummy taco. I will miss the pig out front too.
For me, Biscuit ‘bit it’ when they decided to stop offering their delicious chicken pot pie. Nevertheless, I’ll miss the place in the long run because it was a decent cheap food option.
And by the way, I ate the chicken wings from Yummy Taco once (a friend brought them and didn’t mention their origin) and they were really awful. Presumably it won’t be able to stay open much longer, but then I’ve thinking that for about 4 years.
When Yummy Taco first opened, since I worked half a block away, I tried a simple plate of rice and guacomole. It was so vile I threw the entire thing away. How they stay open is beyond me. The food is truly disgusting.
Biscuit may have lacked in other areas, but at least they had delicious mac & cheese.
Hey all, I know there’s been some people dishing on Mitchell’s soul food, but I went there last weekend and had a blast, not one, but two days in a row. The food is spectacular, and tastes actually homemade, not gourmade and fancy, but like Mom’s, if my mom knew how to do ribs right.
I’m not keen on people dissing the place, I was taken care of like I was a little wayward soul, and I will continue to go to that place over any, I repeat ANY faux-soul-joint that pops up with a cliche-clever name. MITCHELLS!
