That is our dear Oophus. He is over ten years old and I had to surrepitiously throw him away. See, he was one of my husband’s dearest loves. Some of you know my husband Muk–clever man with a fondness for Tequila, a beautiful songwriter and Dad to little Miss Jyothi. He loved Oophus and so did Jyothi. But because of his advanced age, I was afraid he had bugs in him and Jyothi’s need to hold him and kiss him kind of grossed me out.
So I threw him away and I guess our porter decided not to put him in a black bag but to leave him sitting by the tree.
Interestingly, as I took young Jyothi to daycare, we saw him sitting forlornly and Jyo pointed and said, “Dat?”
I too felt sorry and thought maybe I would go back and take him to the dry cleaners and maybe he could be saved. Someone else beat me to it.
Hopefully he has a good home now. Unfortunately, since Muk now knows his dear Oophus was thrown away, I no longer have a home. Where do I post for a roommate?

D’oh! I took that picture the morning of June 2nd, and by the time I came home from work, Oophus was gone, so I feel certain he was adopted by somebody or other–I bet that’s why the porter left him visible like that. I’m sorry to be the cause of discord but I have to say that I’m very impressed that this site managed to identify the teddy bear!
That’s Daily Heights for you… connecting the dots, breaking up marriages. Another job well done!
