Heather investigates: "The long-adored pool table in Soda on Vanderbilt Ave. has bitten the dust. A major selling point since the bar’s opening, the pool table was removed about two weeks ago because, according to one bartender, it was the cause of ‘too many fights.’ She attested that the table was not broken or anything; ‘it was just time’ for it to go." Soda Bar; 629 Vanderbilt Ave. btw Prospect Pl. and St. Mark’s Ave.; 718-230-8393.
I don’t feel bad. I don’t play pool. Now, there’s more seating than those annoying benches around the pool table. Those sucked when they were the only seating available. I was always worried I was gonna get whacked in the eye with the end of a cue stick.
Yeah, there’s no denying the space was too small for it. It was a pain trying to walk past it en route to the back patio.
No more fat lips for me over snooker!
Oh no! I’m pissed, now where to play pool?
Yeah, where exactly is there to play pool in Prospect Heights? Mooney’s got ride of their table a while back, too. I love me some damn pool. Any suggestions?
is this a trend? freddy’s has also removed its pool table in favor of a (gasp) FOOSBALL table. who plays foosball?
I do! Foosball is cool!
I love foosball. Reynolds you’re on.
I was just in the midst of wrting up a little piece on that — on Freddy’s missing pool table/new foosball table, that is. To come, w/photo.
Andy, why do my posts always show up twice?
