doesn’t seem to have been too bad this morning. since the V train is taking over the C line, i took the V to west 4th, then headed downtown on the a/e to get to tribeca. not as bad. if there was nothing replacing the C line, then that would be a bi issue.
all-in-all, the mta did the best they could and things could be worse.
it took me 1.5 hours to get to clinton-washington from 116th st ‘c’ station last night. this involved a highly comic episode at hoyt-schemerhorn where the two mta conductors shouted each other down over the speakers over whether the ‘a’ would continue as local or express. (imagine a “less filling – tastes great” commercial replaced with the cries “local! local!” and “express! express!” for about five minutes.) at 11:15pm, “express” was victorious, leaving most passengers milling about on the platform, waiting for the ‘g’
i expect more mta confusion for the near future.
